Shit sonnnn. I’ve been trying to figure out how to start this post for 10 minutes. Really, what can I even say about James Murphy & LCD Soundsystem? There’s too much to say in such a short space.

It looks like they’ll have a new album out next year, and their myspace hints of an even bigger and better live band and more touring! Holy shit, just before their tour of Australia in 2008 I distinctly remember Murphy telling all the press how much he hates touring and its worse than working a day job, and such a drag, etc. The new album must be a winner if he’s this keen to tour it.

I also remember hearing Murphy saying he writes all the songs in his head and when he gets to about 10 songs, his brain can’t handle anymore so he goes and records an album. No demoing, no pre-production…just straight into it. Amazing…. if its true. (Verify, anyone?)

I’m rambling. Sorry. Let’s just go back to where it all started…. their first ever 7″ single…..Losing My Edge. This song started it all and like all good LCD Soundsystem songs, you gotta make sure you take the whole journey. No skipping after 2 minutes.

James Murphy & Pat Mahoney are out here this summer doing DJ’s sets. No word of sideshows, but if you’ve got tickets to any of the festivals they’re playing….enjoy it, you bastard.
