Auckland, New Zealand’s 1995 continue their excellent dark-wave post punk stuff here with their latest single Polar Rapid, which is split 7″ with Brisbane’s DZ. A slight change in vocal style here from their previous stuff, and it really works for them.

1995 are my favourite Auckland band… I saw them accidentally at a house party when i was over there earlier this year, and was really surprised… and have been listening to them ever since.

I recently noticed a new track on their myspace Gettin’ Brainz which is def my new fav 1995 song…. a dark new wave / post punk affair  with enough rhythm to keep you dancing…really great…check it out
