DUCKTAILS

A really cool hazy sunshine vibe here on Wishes from New Jersey’s Ducktails. I could just put this on repeat and slip into a trance filled with banana lounges, mojito’s, long sunny days, swimming pools, bicycles and polaroid pictures. Yeah…something like that.

Well it’s that time of year again. We’re literally 2 weeks away from the start of summer, and it definitely already feels like we are in that part of the year we call “the festive season” or whatever.

Beer and/or wine are tasting sweeter than ever, days are longer, the sun is out, music sounds better, the beach is actually inviting for a change, the water is blue, the seasonal variety of fruits are out, etc  you get the picture right?

Help us celebrate the return of summer and see out 2009 in style.

$6 ENTRY - Oxford Art Factory Gallery Bar – Saturday 19th December – 9pm

Two of FNMC’s favourite local Sydney bands Joysticks & Step Panther, and FNMC DJ’s providing the soundtrack. Visuals on the big screen from our private collection, and a whole lot more + good times.

Wow we haven’t done this before. Mungo Jerry’s #1 hit direct from 1970, In The Summertime. Most of us would have heard this at some stage of our lives i’m sure. I’m incredibly excited about summer coming around (you probably gathered that since i’ve said the word summer in pretty much every post so far), and I think i’m now officially on a mission to find the perfect summer jam for the summer of 2009-2010….Mungo Jerry’s beachy, boppy In The Summertime is already in the top 3 thats fo’ sho’.

How many times did i just say summer???  6 times including that one.

Yeah I know what you’re thinking….yet another lo-fi summer garage pop band on FNMC. Well you’re gonna have to deal with it. Honestly on the first few listens of The Mantles Don’t Lie, I felt like I had heard it all before. But the last 60 seconds of this song really starts to get into your brain after a few (subconscious) listens, and before you know it, you are listening to this 15 times a day. Well that’s what happened to me anyway.

LP available through Siltbreeze now.
