Thee Oh Sees

Apologies for the lack of posting lately. Was a busy couple of weeks before my trip down to Meredith, but I’m home safe now (minus a few billion brain cells) and ready to get back into this whole website thing…. So it was a great weekend as usual…if you haven’t been to Meredith yet, do yourself a massive favour and get down there…. You won’t be disappointed.

One of my favourite things about Meredith is that they always manage to surprise me with someone I haven’t heard of, that turn out to be my new favourite band, after I (literally) stumble across them at some course of the weekend. I don’t bother checking out (in advance) the bands on the lineup that I haven’t heard of, I just wait until the festival & the surprise is usually far greater.

Anyway, this year it’s Thee Oh Sees from San Francisco, California. Thee Oh Sees started off as a platform for singer/guitarist John Dwyer to release his instrumental, experimental home recordings…and over numerous years, numerous name changes and numerous releases, Thee Oh Sees evolved into a full band. Thank christ. They’ve got a couple of shows left in Australia, if you’re not as stupid as me for not being onto this earlier, and live in Brisbane, Melbourne or Bendigo whilst you’ve still got the chance…

I’ve grabbed the track Enemy Destruct from their 2009 album Help, which available from In The Red.
